Early voting started yesterday in Virginia. Here in Fairfax it is only at the county government center as of yesterday, with satellite voting centers not open till October 14. We passed by yesterday morning to see if we could get in early to vote, and there must have been over 300 people on lines already winding their way around the building and parking lots. Remarkable, given the chilly temperature. We did not try to vote yesterday but my wife and I will certainly look for a chance to early vote soon. This is critically important all over the country, given the damage done already to the US Postal Service. A sobering demonstration of the reality we face in this country today.
